Continued Success with Break Through Mentoring Programs
The Break Through Youth Employment Mentoring program, developed by the Live N Learn Foundation in 2004 continues to thrive and grow through the granting of ongoing Federal funding for the program. Break Through Mentoring assists unemployed youth to gain contemporary Employment Mentoring support aimed at assisting them gain and sustain employment. Both the Macarthur program and the Indigenous adaptation operating in La Perouse, Eastern Sydney have secured further funding to continue the great work and outcomes they are achieving.
Break Through Mentoring has been operating in Macarthur since 2006 and the Live N Learn Foundation is pleased to announce the offer of a three year funding agreement from The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. This builds on the previous three years of funding received through the Local Answers / Community Investment program under FaHCSIA.
The Indigenous adaptation of the Break Through program, Break Through Mentoring Young Kooris for Employment, has secured further funding for the La Perouse pilot program through The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. This extends the program until March 2012 under the Indigenous Employment Program.
